A Conscious Reconstruction of Postcolonial Curriculums as Cultural Practice

The goal of this blog is to increase awareness on the issue of mental and psychological colonialism that still affects many African and Asian countries. By raising awareness, I am also looking to attract many interested scholars, researchers, professors, and students to participate in this discourse. Colonialism may no longer be a blight to many African and Asian countries, yet its effects are still felt many decades later.

I am not, by any means, calling for a complete overhaul of the existing colonial educational and epistemological systems in Africa and Asia. My goal is to shed light on systemic factors and foreign curriculums that are contributing to the loss of culture and identity in these regions. Once we shed light on that and people understand the real benefits of appreciating all cultures and their ways of knowing, we can then figure out what needs to change and what needs to stay in African and Asian education systems.
